Completely addicting

Hello. My name is Jennifer and I am addicted to this game. Yes. I can admit it.

The premise is simple. Gather treasure. Keeping it is hard. Once I figured out the game that became easier. It's free to play so just try it out. Then purchase some better digging levels (and the money pays for the game).

My only feedback would be in highly populated areas -- cities -- the claim zone for treasure should significantly drop from 1.5 miles to .5 miles or less. Would make the game more interesting for those of us who live in cities where mass transit and walking are the norm.

Not real fun.

I can hardly find treasure around my area (SF Bay Area). I'm on a LVL 20 detection.

Buried treasure that Is found severely diminishes your overall score. Treasure gets found too easily.

It might be a fun game if you'd have to be within 500ft of a treasure instead of a mile and a half. A smaller range would make it more like geo-caching.

This is the best game in the app store. You will not be disappointed. This game is great for people who travel vast distances or just cruise around town. Great community of people who play and an even better support team.

Update** they finally made it so you can buy upgrades with the gold you earn from your buried treasures. kudos developers! Exactly what is needed to make this game fun and competitive. Needs more players but a fun time waster.

***Old review*** I wanted to love this "game". Started out with a great ambition that I would ride my bike to the closest treasures near me to get a bit of exercise while playing. Was a little disappointed to find only 3 close by. Went and got them and then found I may not be a high enough "level" to find others. So I spent about $20 to level up my detection and bury level (yes.. You have to basically pay to be any good at this game). And I found a few more treasures around.. Got them and also buried a few of the ones I found around the area. Within a few days the ones I buried were found and gone. So basically the money i spent wasn't good enough to protect my treasure. Long story short.. You have to basically pay to be any good at this game. Also I haven't figured out how to get treasure other then buy maps which basically cost money. The concept is really good but the gameplay needs a lot of work. I really don't think I should have to pay a ton of money just to play the game. And others that are willing to "pay to play" are always going to be a higher level then you. It almost seems the game was designed just to line the developers pockets and not actually around the game concept. If they made it more like a RPG where you increase your level when you actually do something (like find a treasure) I think the game would be much more rewarding. But the current gameplay does nothing but drain your pocketbook. Skip this game until it focuses more on the game and not the money.

A game like this can only be fun withies players. That said there doesn't seem to be any other Brooklyn players at this time. I need to travel to New Jersey in order to find more treasures.

Fun to play. I had tons of stuff buried all over and so did my friends. One person came through and cleared the whole metro area covering at least 5 cities in one day.

Someone spent all their money to upgrade lol.

Time to start over I guess.

Traveler's Quest is, hands down, the best app I have had. Over a year of detecting and I'm still hooked! I used to go geocaching, but this has replaced it! Addictive and fun, you will find yourself detecting everywhere! The developers are the most responsive and helpful I have ever seen and the Facebook group is a great added dimension. Don't think twice on this one. It's a no-brainer! I <3 TQ, you will too!

This game has quickly, and surprisingly, grabbed me by my obsessions and won't let go. The concept is amazingly simple...the (real) world, also has an attached "virtual" world where you can search for, find, and hide "treasure". THAT'S IT!!
So simple, but because of the awesome community and support staff, it's a constantly changing and evolving landscape. The artwork for the virtual treasure is always well done, and the collection items are clever.
The more people in your area, the more diverse your treasures to collect. The game has its own virtual army of treasure hiding "bot's", so there's always something out there for you to find.
The developer is also very personable and interactive on the Facebook channel. It brought me out of my usual introversion on several occasions.
GREAT JOB! GREAT SUPPORT! GREAT GAME!

Update: New version is great. Still my absolute favorite game... no... absolute favorite APP!! I placed it on page 1 the first day I played it and it's earned a permanent place there. I'm truly hooked! I've befriended some really cool people too. Get it and join in on the fun!

I'm new to the game, but it instantly became my favorite! Maybe even my favorite app :) This is so well thought out and unique. It's captured my interest like no other game could have-- really addictive! Judging by the activity in TQ's Facebook group, this game has a really nice friendly community going, and the dev's are right there and are really invested in making this game the fun experience that it is!

I've found there are some existing players in my area, which should make for some good fun. Even if there weren't, the dev's have created some virtual bot-players which will bury treasure items in your area and get you off to a good start! I'm telling you, Traveler's Quest has really been so well thought out and implemented, and has made playing such a unique and fun pasttime!

I've had NO connectivity issues after the day I got it on Apps Gone Free. They picked up 4000 new players that day, but the connectivity and functioning is flawless now.

You CAN play for free, and also play towards upgrades. I did get some upgrades to get an easier start, though, and after seeing what a great game the dev's have created, I was happy to support their efforts. (Thanks!!) The in-app purchase scheme is well thought out so that players really can't get an unfair advantage just by buying their way into superiority. Fair play is the standard here, and I really appreciate that!

Really... Get This Game and join in the fun! It's Awesome!
